    Depends what application you intend using - if you are using something like Adobe Premiere - there are some specs here

    They would be a good baseline for any heavy duty editing application.

    So either get something like an iMac or Mac mini, or build something to the spec shown for Windows. The higher the spec, memory, cores processor speed, the faster you will be transcoding or rendering.
