I'd say it was overpriced.
While these forums are not US based, I did a quick look on Newegg for you:
CPU : AMD FX-6300 (4.1GHz) = $120
Video Card : Radeon HD 7790 1GB = $130
RAM : 8GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 = $85
Hard Drive(s) : 1TB 7200 RPM ~= $70
Power Supply : 450 Watt - not enough to go on, but assuming a decent one (which it probably isn't) ~$60 (FSP)
Optical Drive : DVD +/- RW = $20
OS - Ubuntu = Free
~$485
A few things to keep in mind:
Ubuntu is not a gaming OS. Forget it. Unless you really know what you're doing, you're not going to be running games easily under it (assuming you want to play recent titles).
The GPU and CPU are okay, but it's nothing special. If you're going for a gaming PC and you have $700 to spend, you can do better.
Also requires a case, motherboard & cooler...
Even including those though, you're only running another $70-$100, always assuming the PSU is of decent quality, if its a craptastic model as a lot of system builders use you can knock $40 off agent's numbers.Quote:

Why not build your own? It's pretty easy these days as long as you are sensible . Works out slightly cheaper usually and you get to pick our components. There is a slight risk it will all go wahoone shaped but it's a really amazing feeling the first time you turn it on and everything works.
