Has anyone here got a Haswell laptop?
I'm looking at a new laptop and have my eye on one with an i7-4702MQ and Nvidia GT 740M (~£500 if you're interested)
I'm wondering how good the 4600 is on the CPU (can't be far off the 740M!?) as I've only seen performance on the desktop range.
Cheers folks!
Rob

I have the Dell XPS15 with the 4702HQ and the GT750
Bloody quick springs to mind but the 750 spanks the 4600 GPU.
Re: Has anyone here got a Haswell laptop?
There's a HQ too? Good how many versions have they come up with? If the 750 beats the HQ (which is a little faster than the MQ) then I wonder how the 740 will fare?
Hmmm..!
Re: Has anyone here got a Haswell laptop?
its like the finish line in a race, a split second in it so I would not worry. The downside is mines trying to run a 3200x1800 display so it needs the grunt.
looking at it the socket is the only thing that differs.

@Rob_B What laptop was it?
Just bought a refurb HP Envy Touchsmart 15 for my girlfriend, it's got an i7-4700MQ and GT 740M in it. Cost £640 tho (brand new is £900 or so) which is a big difference from £500, probably due to the touch screen.
Re: Has anyone here got a Haswell laptop?
It was a Lenovo S751(?)
I ended up buying a different one with an i5 and a 540m for under £300, its waiting for me at home!

Ah well, was just wondering if I've wasted her money!

Seems a fair price I think, id seen that spec for 699 with no touch screen so as you say that'll add something to the price.
