Been on this for a day and a half now, no results (yet).
Got a HP DV6-6001SA to fix. Owner wished for Windows 8/8.1. Up from Windows 7. Couldn't imagine any issues. How wrong I was.
It appears that Windows 8.1 doesn't like AMD mobile GPUs. Not sure if all of them but definitely not the HD6470M (which is in this laptop). I simply CAN'T install the GPU/AMD audio drivers.
Tried to read up about it, but so far no definitive resolution.
Tried 22x different driver packs. From AMD. From other laptop manufacturers. All of them. Nothing.
Tried driver installers. Nothing.
Tried reinstall the OS (several times). Nothing.
Tried install driver pack, if no work, uninstall with AMD uninstaller and try again. Nothing.
The problem is simply the 'atihdwb6.sys' file.Causes BSOD and the installer can't finish, leaving the GPU drivers unfinished.
Any help, please?
