Laptop for Parents - £450 ish budget?

As per title, my parents 6 year old laptop is on the way out, so I am looking for a replacement for them.

It will see a lot of regular use, but mainly; internet browsing, documents, video watching, youtube etc - but nothing more 'heavy' then that.

Looking for 15" screen, and some internals that will still be keeping up with basic tasks in 4-6 years time.

Must have SSD, has anyone seen any good deals about?

    Thanks

The Zen2 based laptops are starting to enter retail now - I would try and wait for more of those. The IdeaPad 5 15 is one of the first to use a Zen2 CPU and there was a very good deal on them a few weeks ago, which you missed out on!

I was looking for something similar for my inlaws. I was eyeing up this one. I liked the 4c/8t Ryzen 3500U that will last them a long while, and that it comes with a m.2 SSD and some 1TB spinning rust for additional storage. The Vega 8 iGPU will do them just fine too, on the 1080p 15" panel.

Has Windows Hello which makes things simpler for the in-laws, OK number and type of ports: https://www.asus.com/uk/Laptops/ASUS...ook-15-X512DA/

    Thanks for the posts both.

CAT-THE-FIFTH, have you got a link to that expire deal?

MagicWok - Thanks for that, that was a laptop I have bookmarked as a potential option! It is one of the favorites, but the colour will not go down well with my folks!

I know it comes in other colours - a dark grey and silver one being more muted if that's more appealing.

I haven't seen any at that price, with the 1TB HDD in anywhere else?

HP laptops do really good audio.

I'd look there for i3, 256gb ssd, 1080p screen minimum.

This seems like an awesome deal... I'm trying to find the catch... but can't... I am also looking for a laptop for my mum at the moment, who's WFH and requires a computer to work from but only has a 10 year old laptop to work from currently... (don't get me started on why her work isn't providing her with one).

Anyone got any experience with this brand?

Re: Laptop for Parents - £450 ish budget?

Thanks guys! Their old laptop started working again, and despite being 7 years old(!!) they insist on using it until it dies. Fortunately they have everything backed up, so when it does die no biggie.

It does mean I am keeping an eye on good deals, so that when the phone call does arrive, I have something options/ideas as to what I can expect to get them.

I would be VERY grateful for the continue posting of any deals that catch peoples eye? - That Aldi deal was fantastic!!

    Many thanks all

It's still available, but I would say the Zen2 based Renoir APUs are a really big improvement overall.
