    Dell XPS questions

Hi i have a few questions in regards to both the 13 inch and 15 inch models of he coffe lake based XPS laptops.

Xps 13: Does it suffer from Thermal throttling like the Xps 15 versions and other similar laptops?

Does it still use the killer wifi card? if so, does it still have a bad rep?

Can you use any of the usb c ports to charge the laptop?

Can you use this cable to charge the laptop? https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Its a 30w usb c fast charging one that worked ok for my razer blade stealth

    Xps 15

Does the thermal throttling occur only when playing high demanding games or does it also happen when rendering/editing 4k footages and editing 42mp RAW stills in premier pro/Lightroom/PhotoShop?

Does it also throttle during doing a Gradle Build(compiling a large scale code that normaly takes 10mins on a dual core)?

Can you also use the above 30w wall charger USB or something more powerful to charge the laptop through its USB C port or can you only charge via the propriatery charger?

    Thanks all

    Dell XPS questions

Value of this resistor is same for the most modern Dells notebook PCs. So if you have damaged Compal board form Dell notebook PC you can get it.

    Re: Dell XPS questions

I've got an early XPS15 9550 i7 with only one USB-C socket and if I just plug it into my HP Thunderbolt Dock G2 230W for my work laptop (only the USB-C cable connected) I get a BIOS warning to say it has detected a 60W PSU but needs a 130W PSU so may not charge and may also use some battery.

But it's booted up and using the connected display and charging OK, even loading up GTA-V for a few mins it went from 67% to 74%.

    Re: Dell XPS questions

Dell XPS 13 and 15 in the family here. Happy with both so far. Newest versions have intel wifi cards installed even is it says Killer Wifi. Same hardware with some software and driver optimisations.
