    UK Laptops in the EU

My parents live in France and it seems a lot of the expat community got fairly used to buying UK tech and then just getting it shipped into the EU. With Brexit and customs fees, they are now having to look for alternatives. In France particularly most laptops come with an Azerty keyboard, other EU nations have their own versions which are not ideal, especially when many of the users are of the older generations.

Has anyone spotted any EU based laptop sellers that have an option to provide UK keyboard or any ideas? The only two ideas I could come up with was buying Chinese from AliExpress which now have EU warehouses and provide multiple keyboard options, though these are not ideal. Or, using a Clevo reseller such as www.pcw.fr, though I have no familiarity with how reputable or reliable these type of companies are.

    Anyone got any ideas?

If they can live with the small changes in layout the Dutch use 'US International' as their main standard. It'll open up a wider range of makes/models and cheaper off the shelf devices from the likes of MediaMarkt, Coolblue etc.

Alternative, you can order direct from manufacturers with different keyboards. Our corporate machines can be ordered from Dell France and customised with another layout. I don't know if this is true for the whole range or just the 'business' end, (Latitudes, Mobile Precisions etc.)

Wonderful suggestions, thanks for that. I have a Dutch friend and she has suggested Mediamarkt, Belsimpel, Coolblue and Ep in that order. It looks like it is just the Dell business end that have the option to use a UK keyboard which is nice, also the choice on language edition of Windows is good as well. I've not personally used Dell, but I've heard a lot of bad things. Though beggars can't be choosers in this situation.

You could just get UK Layout keyboard stickers in the meantime https://www.amazon.de/s?k=uk+layout+...ref=nb_sb_noss

Like anything, you get what you pay for. (within reason).

We're buying at the much higher end, but no major issues. At least none that you wouldn't get regardless of if we're a Lenovo, HP, Dell, Apple exclusive shop.
