Mesh Computers - Who should he complain to?

I recommended a neighbour of mine to go for a Mesh computer after weighing up what he required from the machine.

He received the machine, but it came with problems. Most notably it kept crashing out of windows to BSOD screens. The machine is now on its way back to him after 2 round trips to their repairs department. Having had both its graphics card (on its first visit) and now its RAM (the 2nd visit) replaced. He's written to them demaning his money as he's been without his new machine for over 5 weeks and he's asking me who he should complain to.

Apart from Trading Standards who else could he go to?

They are no more liekely to go wrong than any other rig. They are built from standard off the shelf bits, and have a standard OS onboard. The ones I have seen have been tidely put together, using middle of the road components. I did work on one that had problems but that was down to a loads of other rubbish being put on there by the owner. O and another one had overheating problems, kept crashing. This was down to it being webged in a tight space with nowhere for exhast heat to go.

Well, all I heard from people I know is they have had no problems with Mesh.
Try complaining to the PC Mags, not only will they prob do something they will warn others.

My experience with Mesh is that they use fairly decent components, are reasonably assembled & often represent good vfm for the hardware (sometimes cheaper than I could buy the same/equivalent bits for).
I've never had to use their tech support/RMA though which does seem to have a poorer rep.

I got my last two PCs from Mesh. Both were solid well built machines delivered on time with all the relevant discs. If you look on other internet boards you'll find people with good and bad experiences for every UK PC manufacturer.

Two things everyone buying a new PC should do:-

    1) Always pay by credit card, then you're covered if it goes totally pear shaped

    2) Always get at least one year on-site warranty, then if you have a problem you get a guy turn up at your door and work on it till its fixed

I agree this company should be shut down, I was attracted to Mesh because of pc mag hype, they were quick enough to sell to me but I am still waiting for a repair to be carried out which I reported in Feb 2006. Have you ever tried ringing technical support or even trying to get through to customer services to complain. This company should not be allowed to trade in the UK, ANYONE READING THIS WHO IS CONSIDERING MESH DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE PRICE ETC, IF IT GOES WRONG AND IT WILL, IF WILL CAUSE YOU ALMOST INSANITY TO TRY AND CONTACT SOMEONE TO REPORT FAULT AND TO AFFECT THE REPAIR, LOOK AT ME I AM STILL WAITING. THIS COMPANY SHOULD CARRY A GOVERNMENT HEALTH WARNING - DEALING WITH MESH COMPUTERS CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR HEALTH!!!!! A VERY ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED MESH CUSTOMER

OMG you guys are completely narrow minded, have you not realised that all the problems related to Mesh computers is down to user error. If the people who bought the computer had half a computing mind they would be able to troubleshoot and diagnose the computer myself. When I first got my computer I couldn't get it running stable for sh*t but after a few days or more I sorted out all the problems by forum browsing and making sure everything was up to date. If half of the people who buy a mesh computer would actually think about the hardware that mesh uses is not actually there own hardware then most of you would understand that they are not responsible at all, in fact if you so intently want Mesh shut down then you should seek out the hardware manufacturers and get them shut down to. Basically what I am trying ot say here is stop whining and try and use your computer to solve its problems... its not that hard you know (*cough* google *cough*).
