    Tiny PC's

I got a Tiny PC in 1999 which is still running as my server on my home network today. They're built well and don't crash often. The only major problems are the weak power supply and the cables which are all hot glued into the motherboard and the drives. These problems make upgrading a nightmare.

in the end i couldn't be bothered getting all the cables out so i just added a couple of NIC's and had it as my server and i built my own computer.

    Learn from your mistakes.

I remember trying to salvage a friends Hard Drive out of a broken Tiny machine.

Had to be really clever to remove the glue without damaging the HDD.

PS - Does hot glue conjour up nightmares of the Phantom Console from Infinium Labs or is it just me?

We used to them at work - the main problem we had was they always tended to use Fujitsu hard drives, all of which ended up dying (it was a common well known fault with the Fuji MPG series) - plus the PSUs were the cheapest things on the planet and always blew.

The power supply was a 120W PSU for an athlon 900, 2 cd drives a hard drive, a tnt2 graphics card and 256 MB of ram. It only just run it.

Mine hoever came with a samsung hard drive and i have not had a problem with it yet and is still running in my computer today.

I wouldn't say they were crap but built on an extremely small budget. They worked, JUST!
