    elitepcsystems.co.uk

Has anyone bought from www.elitepcsystems.co.uk ?

I was looking at various top end system builders such as alienware, scan, evesham etc and came across an advert from them.

I emailed them a spec and they came up with a great price. Quite frankly a suspiciously great price.

Chucked the web site name into Google and came up with review sites either claiming that they were a rip off company that never delivered and were posting positive reviews about themselves, or glowing reviews about excellent products and services, saying that someone had a vendetta against them, and was posting false negative reviews about them.

Decided to not buy from them (gonna buy through Scan), but was wondering if anyone knew the truth about this company?

Well, from their terms and conditions:

Basically the prices are not their selling prices, just what they *think* they might be able to offer you. When you order they will email you the 'real' price From how I read it anyway.

Yeah, this is what i meant. Between Romulus and Grumbletext it all looks very dodgy.

Just wondered if anyone here had first hand experience of them?

Theres not a chance in hell I would recommend them to anyone.

I've never bought from them but I part of a website that used to be sponsored by them, we had so many complaints of people buying systems and not getting them, and of people that have wait 13month for a refund.

There line is that we have been very busy of late and have a huge back log.

    http://www.cpcff.co.uk/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1531&start=0

You can see here some of the problems people have had, there also another post in the unmodderated forum (although only forum members can access it)

Many people are taking legal action against them.

Although I must say this wasnt always the case, before they were a very reputable company.

You have got to be kidding! No phone number, no VAT number, no Company Reg number, not even a contact address. The last point being illegal. All companies must display their full name, any trading names and the address of their head office in several places to comply with the law. If anyone fancies causing them any grief, point this fact out to their local trading standards.

Their terms and conditions are all laughably unenforceable as well. You could raise that as well.

I am a director of a PC and fibre network supplier myself. From my experience, everything about these guys screams danger to me, even down to the fact they take Paypal for credit cards! Who on earth takes Paypal? No one serious, or perhaps someone who can't get a proper merchant account, or is afraid of chargebacks from disgruntled clients? Even piss-ant little £250,000 turnover compaines get merchant accounts. All very, very fishy to my seasoned eye....

There are a number of refunds & outstanding PC's still to be honoured by Elite PC Systems. This is solely due to running into financial difficulty over the past couple of months.

The whole dilemma of the past 2 months has been very costly to myself, including personally with my wife leaving me due to this whole scenario. I am not trying to get anyone's sympathy vote here, but merely to explain the entire situation.

I understand that a lot of people have been e-mailing me and not getting any replies... this is solely because I have been trying to get this whole mess sorted out.

I only managed to get myself into this mess, by becoming too popular. I have been building PCs since I was a teenager and only really as a hobby, until more & more people wanted me to build a PC for them, then I started thinking, I could do this for a living.

And 2 years ago, Elite PC Systems website was launched by myself & a mate. At the beginning everything was brilliant, and me & my mate were getting nothing but praise for the PCs we were building. However, after a year, Paul, my mate, became seriously ill and could no longer continue working.

This left me on my own, dealing with e-mails, ordering, compiling quotes and ofcourse building & shipping of all PCs. Working nearly 17 hours a day, it became too much, and I therefor took on James and things started to get a little easier.

However, as more time passed, things started to get even more hectic, and more & more orders were flooding in! Even after advertising for more staff, there weren't any suitable candidates for the job at the time. I'm not entirely sure what happended to James, as he stopped phoning & coming to my house for PC components & build spec's.

Anyway... this left me on my own again, and started hitting real roblems, especially financially. Most of you reading this who build their own PCs, will think that it would be easy doing my job... well, I can tell you, it isn't (especially on your own) when more & more orders keep flooding in every day...meaning my house looks like a warehouse, with every single room filled with cases, components, boxes, shipping materials etc etc...

However, enough of me rattling on, here is the good news. The financial problems are over, after being helped out by 2 relatives, who are now silent partners of Elite PC Systems. Both donating extremely large amounts of money to keep Elite PC Systems alive. (I can't thank them enough, as I think I'd have went bankrupt if they hadn't bailed me out). We are also now in the process of opening a 2 storey business premises in my local area. (Airdrie in Lanarkshire, Scotland).

More staff have also being recruited for the shop opening (3 in total) and we are due to open on Monday 3rd of October 2005. All outstanding PCs & refunds will be distributed as soon as possible on the run up to and after the shop opening. The website will also be totally re-vamped over the next few weeks, with secure ordering and credit / debit card processing being available.

All customers who are either waiting on their PC or a refund, should contact me william@elitepcsystems.co.uk stating whether they would still like a refund or the PC they initally ordered.

The whole database of orders has been re-vamped, so those with outstanding PCs can you possibly e-mail me with a copy of the quote / spec that you were originally given.

I know a few people have been contacting Custom PC magazine etc... after not getting much joy with e-mails etc, but I am glad to tell you that everything will soon be sorted out ASAP.

I understand that the 3rd of October is over 28 days away, but please bare with me, as I will make sure that everyone with outstanding PCs will be compensated. All customers who have outstanding orders will be able to choose from either a free 17" TFT monitor or £100 cash back.

I can only apologise to all previous customers for my mistakes over the past couple of months, and hopefully the next time you'll see Elite PC Systems mentioned in the forums, it'll be praise for their new PC they just ordered, and not complaining about refunds etc, etc...

    Calm down a bit.

The guy has admitted his mistakes, apologised and is trying to rectify everything as much as he can, from the linked forum it looks as tho most are being sorted out quickly enough.

Let the guy have till say November to turn everything around, gives them a month with the shop.

what alanore hasnt said before (i am also a member of that forum) is that there are about 13 of our new members waiting for systems, many have not been able to contact since they send money. this guy takes 20 mins to respond positively to emails about new orders (and he has a backlog?) and has very rarely replyied to emails from these people at all, and weeks after their originals

Hmm, and now their website has been down for a couple of weeks. Just glad that I didn't buy from them as l it looks like they've gone.
Thinking about it, Jock seems to have plenty of time to go round the net telling everyone what a hard time his company is haveing, and how it would be sorted soon. Maybe if he spent some of that time actually building the pc's and delivering them he wouldn't have had this problem?
