Exclamation Urgent help: need turnkey media prod system for 1000 quid

I build my own systems, but a friend has asked me to give him a few choices for best turnkey / pre-built system for 1000 quid, which is why I need help.

He's going to be doing graphic design, maybe video editing too.

Have told him at least to get a dual core AMD for that cash, 1GB ram etc, but he doesn't have much clue.

I've browsed a few sites (scan, overclockers, savastore, dabs, cclonline, pcpro best buys, pcw best buys etc) and best bang for the buck so far is this:

i've just ordered a 3xs system, they seem very reasonable. i've found that they charge around £100 - £150 extra to what the components actually cost, i guess this goes on paying them to build it and the sytem intergration and setup, it also includes 1 years warranty. If you can wait a week or so i'll let you know my first impressions when it first arrives. I've heard nothing bad about them yet, (at least nothing that would put me off them) and my experience so far is that they have been very helpful.

had a look through the systems there on your mutual recommendation. Nothing matches the spec of that Carrera machine, although at the same time, have no idea how the Carrera machines perform..........

want the dual core AMD, plus the RAID 1 isn't too shabby, and monitor included. Don't think one should have to pay more for a keyboard and mouse, ie cheapest IIRC was about 30 quid. Don't want to fork out when already paying 1000 quid.

Also looked at Alienware - which always looked the funkiest, but no dual core there either.

this guy needs the spec / quote tomorrow
