    PSU Wattage Help

    Hey people,

Yesterday Morning I tried to turn on my pc but was greeted by a feeble attempt to start and then a cloud of smoke

Looks like its all buggered so am going to have to upgrade.

I vaguely remember years ago there was a way to workout what Size PSU would be best but I cant remember it

My rig has 4 hard drives, blu-ray drive, 6970 graphics and about 6 80mm fans. I`ll be looking at an i7 chip and mobo. So my question is what size PSU do i need? I`ll be looking at adding an SSD as well at some point

    cheers

    Re: PSU Wattage Help

A 6970 requires a minimum 550W PSU so I reckon you should be fine with a 650-700W device.
