Will my PSU run this rig?

    Hi guys,

Basically I'm planning on doing an upgrade soon and wondered if you guys thought my Enermax EL620W
would be capable of running an i5 2600k with 3 hard drives and 2 ATI 6850's.

I already have one 6850 so the most logical choice I thought would be to stick another one in too if possible. If it is, could the PSU also stretch to a 6870 seen as they're quite similar in price to the 6850's now?

Thanks in advance, if I've missed anything important ask away.

    Karl

    Hi There
Which PSU is it? Is it this one?
    http://www.enermax.com/home.php?fn=e...=1&lv1=8&no=23

If it is, then it should be fine.

Re: Will my PSU run this rig?

It's the older, non-eco version, although it is still a liberty with the same model number as the one you just showed me. I just wanted to check with people who might know more before I went for it.

I'll probably just do the upgrade in steps starting with the extra 6850 and work my way up from there.

    Cheers!

Re: Will my PSU run this rig?

    I second that opinion.

I have a similar setup (but only 1 5870) rather than 2 6850's, and my Corsair 750w barely draws 350w from the socket at peak power, so add another 150w for the graphics card and your still not near your 620w.

Re: Will my PSU run this rig?

That's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks!

May I ask how you found out what the power draw was?

    Cheers.
