Looking through the pages on the reviews database I was surprised about PC Power & Cooling, probably because I never really looked them up in detail, but I always thought that they made their own PSUs, now I see they design and then outsource manufacturing, so the work they do for OCZ (or as part of OCZ) is in designing the PSUs. I've bookmarked the database, I'm sure it will come in handy.

You might be right about that, but it is possible to be honest without being rude, I still would have looked at the link if you had just politely pointed out that the database you linked was more up to date and had better insight, as it stands I don't really appreciate your passive aggressive tone.
You are forgiven lol when i read this "I don't really appreciate your passive aggressive tone. " It was not meant to be aggressive in any way shape or form so i say sorry friend for hurting your feelings

    Probably time to upgrade.
Would recommend anything by Seasonic and Corsair (bar the CX series)

    Re: When to upgrade PSU?

Agreed. If you ever need to upgrade, XFX core edition 550W is good for you money (single PSU configuration). It is essentially a re-branded seasonic which is top notch in PSU.

    Re: When to upgrade PSU?

+1 for the XFX Pro recommendation. I have the 450W, at that price (I paid £35ish) its the only PSU with fully sleeved cables, 80+ Bronze and its a seasonic OEM - so it looks v.nice in my case, keeps my elecy bills low & is very reliable!

XFX is good until you need to return something.
It's more than 2 months now since I have sent back stuff and they still need more time. Not to mention the hassle beforehand. I had to obtain an XFX reference number to get a Scan RMA number. I had about a dozen emails exchanged with XFX support to get that ref number.

I won't buy anything from them again.

    Re: When to upgrade PSU?

Thanks guy for all you replay while I was on holiday

I have made my mind and definitely changing my PSU.

Due to personal preferences I have decided to go with Corsair’s PSU.

    My choice is http://www.scan.co.uk/products/650w-...12v-quiet-fan-

I do not need 650W but the smaller equivalent http://www.scan.co.uk/products/550w-...-12v-quiet-fan is only £5 cheaper and this 650W might be more future proof.

I’m going to buy it unless somebody would recommend me something in the same price/performance range

    Re: When to upgrade PSU?

Seasonic without a doubt, and why go to another brand that has someone else to make it for them?

    http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/psu_manufacturers

And being that u have an old psu, which you have been lucky with so far, is it worth the risk of your psu taking down another piece of hardware?

look at this thread - Cheap PSU overheaded and killed my rig - here on this site in same category!
