    Question PSU / Case query

    Hi All

Sorry to jump in with a query as my first post, but I haven't actually taken a PC apart in a long time and I'm so far behind the curve it's staggering.

I've decided to improve the erformance of a ZooStorm PC I've been using to play WoW. I wanted to swap out the graphics card, so I bought a new PSU as well, as the old PSU wasn't up to the job.

I've bought an OCZ 600W PSU and I've noticed that it's got a fan on the top of the PSU ( which is says will aid cooling ), however there is no vent on the top of the case to allow air out. Is this going to be a problem for the PSU and am I going to have to buy a new top vent case too ??

    Re: PSU / Case query

You want your PSU the other way around, fan pointing into the case(this is generally the standard fitting btw, but I haven't used your case). It will draw warm air out of the case and expel it out the mesh at the back of the PSU.

    Re: PSU / Case query

Thanks, that's what I would usually expect.

What confused me is where it said "a massive top mounted fan for cooling" and I assumed that would be the exhaust......didn't even think that would be drawing the air in....like I say, it's been a while
