    PSU possible upgrade, worthwhile?

I'm running my system specs (copied them out for convenience):
    Mobo:Asus p8h67
    CPU:i5 2500
    Memory:16gb DDR3
    Storage:1TB Samsung + 120GB Sandisk Extreme
    Graphics card(s):Sapphire 7850 OC
    PSU:Corsair HX450
    Case:Silverstone SG03
    +DVD R
    + 2 x 120mm fans

Got the GPU overclocked (above stock oc) but apart from that it's stock.
I've been offered a seasonic x660 gold for a good price, is there any point in upgrading to a more efficient but considerably higher output psu? I'm pretty sure 450w is fine for my system even though the hx450 is a touch old, it's still within 7 year warranty.
What do people reckon? I'm tempted just because it's 'gold' but probably not worth it.

Your current PSU is fine TBH. How cheap is the Seasonic PSU though?

I think it's good enought for your system... By the way if you're thinking about future, a seasonic x660 maybe is a good choice. You can sell Corsair for 25£ more or less...

    Re: PSU possible upgrade, worthwhile?

For £60 I'd get the Seasonic and keep the 450w as a backup. You give yourself expandability with the 660w, but if power requirements keep going down you might even be able to go back to the 450w in a few years.

Chances are the connectors will change, as they have many times in the past. Plus requirements in the way power is delivered may also change.

I'd say that you don't need the upgrade. Save the £60 unless you are going to do a significant upgrade which requires additional power in the near future.

Yeah unless you are going to add some sort of beastly graphics card in future then I'd stick with your current PSU.
