There is no problem with that but you will be wasting electricity and the PSU may not be running efficiently. I heard youre supposed to run PSUs at 80+% of their rated wattage.
Yeah it would be possible read here (http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=108208) but you need specialised hardware to switch both PSU's on at the same time but there are no gaurntees that it would work effectively, you may as well go out and buy this >>>http://www.scan.co.uk/products/1250w...timate-atx-psu to run 2x HD6990 in crossfire (One HD6990 requires Radeon HD 6990 - 45A and a 750W PSU minimum) so that PSU I recommend will be more than enough for your needs this takes into account power needs for the rest of the system as well.
Recent PSUs are much better in this regard, well as long as you get a decent one and not one of the 10 quid nasties.
They are less efficient at very low output, but do you worry if your PSU is only 50% efficient at 10W output?
Enermax say their PSUs can now go down to zero output with stability. Looks like manufacturers are thinking about this stuff now.
