Without further knowledge I wouldn't go near it.

Does it have the right connectors for this gpu?
Yes.
Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
Thanks, could you make a sub£60 recommendation?

Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
Hi,
I have an issue, I just bought this PSU and it has arrived. After looking at some online PSU calculators they all say that I should be using 600w minimum.
Can anyone set my mind at rest please?
i7 920
Asus p6t6 revolution
MSI 680
3x4Gb DDR3 sticks
2x 120 mm fans
1 SSD
that's it.
Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
Never look at online PSU calculators.
Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
lol, ok. So 550 will be enough with a little head room for any additional devices or mild overclocking?
Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
The only way to absoloutely certain is to use a at the wall power meter. Remember your PSU is only about 85% odd (not sure exact figure) so you can times the wattage read off the meter by 0.85 or wattever (clever eh?) to see how much your PSU is delivering. I imagine it would be fine and would be more than happy; check 680 reviews with similar rigs for wattage and check the numbers they are reading bearing in mind different reviewers will use different measurement methods.
The great thing with a good PSU you can be confident it will supply what it says.

I would expect bags of headroom, but as mentioned, you can only be sure by checking real draw for your exact system.
Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
Oh no! I just got all the kit and the graphics card has 2 8 pin connectors, the psu has 1 6 pin and 1 6+2 pin. I'm 2 pins short :( what\'s the options?

That's annoying, we spec'd for a 6+8. You could return the PSU under DSR and get the next one up (650W) as that has two 6+2s. Or you could use the adaptor that was hopefully supplied with the graphics card to create an 8pin PCI-E from two molex connectors (or a single 6pin). Or you could return the GPU under DSR and get one that has 6+8 pins.
I wonder if it's possible to run with a 6pin plugged in in place of the 8pin? I've never tried.
Sorry if I got it wrong :(
Re: Zootitan-650 any good?
In hindsight I could say that you could have done some research on the card that chavo is using, however I can not find an "MSI GTX 680 2gb power edition" on MSI's global website. The MSI N680GTX Lightning seems to be the only GTX 680 from MSI that I can find with two 8pin PCIe connectors.
I think it might be possible with some cards to use a 6pin rather than an 8pin. Although there may be adverse side effects once you get to the power levels where two 8pins are necessary.
If you do return the XFX and get something else then I personally would go for either of these:
Seasonic G-450 (£65 @ AriaPC / OCUK)
http://skinflint.co.uk/sea-sonic-g-s...m-a830685.html
A good choice, even if it is ~£5 over your budget.
Fractal Design Tesla R2 500W (£60 @ CCL Online / Dabs / Ebuyer)
http://skinflint.co.uk/fractal-desig...w-a815546.html
There probably are other units cheaper than these with two 8pin PCIe connectors, but I feel like these are a step above those units in terms of performance and quality and worth the extra cost.
BTW all the XFX 650W units have four PCIe connectors.
