    Question PSU for R9 280X

Hi forum, I am going to be getting an MSI R9 280X for an upgrade and need a new PSU. I have a AMD FX 4100 4.0 Ghz, 8GB DDR3 ram, 1TB Seagate HDD, Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 MOBO and a CiT Vantage Type-R Gaming Case. I have around £40-£50 budget and it will need to fit the case.

    Any help is appreciated.

Never skimp on a PSU, cheap rubbish PSUs will pop and can take your other bits with them, I'd recommend this for your budget, made by Seasonic.

I'm a big fan of Bequiet PSUs myself.

Don't skimp on the PSU, it's essentially the backbone of your system. I'd recommend a 600W-650W power supply from trustworthy brands like Seasonic, Bequiet, Corsair, Silverstone and Antec. I'd recommend the Corsair CX600. It's £50 on Amazon.

Adding a few pounds, you can have corsair gx550 or gx600, which is enough for your build.

Why pay more for an inferior product?
