In the good old days, PSUs had a kettle lead in and a kettle lead out ( usually to power the monitor when the PC was turned on ).
A quick search of the usual shopping sites has failed to find anything.
Are there any modern PSUs with this feature still ?

Sometime, although I'd like to note that that wasn't normally a 240v out, it was a 240v through put.
The vast majority of consumer grade psu's will not but some cheap-and-nasty will, don't get one it's a waste of money and potentially very bad.
Some indusrial/server grade psu's can have them, but are less easy to find and often more expensive.
A better option for you might be a simple Y split power cable eg http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mains-IEC-Sp.../dp/B0052KR90M

Remember that old AT-style PSUs were not soft-switching as they actually had a physical switch (with ATX the switch is soft and goes through the motherboard so that a netword etc. can wake the PC). The daisy-chain output was simply controlled by that switch too. A lot of modern monitors will power down to under 1W in standby.
Probably the closest you're going to get now is master-slave trailing socket. Plug the PC in the master socket and all peripherals into the slave ones.
