Antec True Power 750 repair?

I have a faulty Antec True Power 750 thats out of warranty anyone know of anyone that can repair it.

I have used it very little and to look at it looks new no dust or marks has been on an unused pc for a couple of years that I came to use last week and it blew when I turned it on.......

These PSU are so expensive new surely there are some repair centres?

I don't believe there are any. Manufacturers often repair/refurbish rma'd psu's then sell them on as refurb units but I have never heard of a company that will do it for the end user. To be honest if it's blown the best place for it is the bin.

Yeah you are right but I would consider this as almost new. Maybe Antec are not so good PSU's

Take it to an electronics repair shop, if such a thing exists near you. They may not be able to (or want to) do anything, but if you're lucky they'll take a look and find it's a simple job.

It's nowhere near as simple as saying Antec (or any other brand) is or isn't a good brand, it's matter of who actually made the PSU in the first place. Hardly any of the brands make their own PSUs, so reading reviews at decent review sites (first and foremost JohnnyGURU) is an absolute must if you want to end up with a quality unit.

Thanks I will give that link a look

I rang Scan today to recommend a new PSU they said that the BeQuite one are best value for money, but I have been told that 90% of them are made at the same factory anyway.....

Antec make some of the best PSUs on the market. They've had one or two mediocre units but the True Power line isn't one, but any brand can get a couple of bad units.

It's not 90% being made at the same factory; there are a number of manufacturers who supply retail companies, some sell directly, however even the common-manufacturer units are often customised to the retail company's specs.

There are a few versions of the True Power line however I suspect yours is a SeaSonic-built unit.

BeQuiet are a decent brand here; they're less well known in USA so a lot of the bigger review sites don't cover them, however I have one in the PC I'm typing this on.
