Be Quiet Pure Power L8 630W PSU and my build
Hi guys.
Just need your expert advice on something.
I've just bought a Be Quiet Pure Power L8 630W PSU which is 80Plus Bronze PSU that I got on offer from Scan for £55.
I am still building my system (waiting on new Haswell refresh CPU to be available to buy) and below there's a list of what I've got so far or I am planning to buy in next few days/weeks.
-Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor
-Corsair H105 73.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
-Asus MAXIMUS VII RANGER ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
-Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory - still can be changed
-Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
-Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive - might be changed to 2TB
-Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card (or GTX 770 not yet sure, Probably AMD)
-NZXT H440 (Red/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case
-Corsair Air Series AF140 Quiet Edition 67.8 CFM 140mm Fan
I based my PSU watt usage on PCPartpicker website which showed recommended PSU as 460W, but today I've checked it on eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Pro which was just below 600W.
I've checked it also on BeQuiet website and recommended PSU for my build is 530W.
I will be overclocking and not planning to crossfire. Maybe I would add another SSD in future.
Do you thing that 630W is enough for my build? Some PSU calculators shows that I should be fine and some that I will be just on the edge with no room for errors.
I can probably still return the PSU I bought as it's still sealed.
Regards

Never use online power calculators. You've just discovered one of the reasons why.
You have more than enough power.
Re: Be Quiet Pure Power L8 630W PSU and my build
The rig in my siggy pulls 290-320w at the wall while gaming. I can make it pull over 400w but only by running Furmark and Linx both at the same time which is something you would not normally do. Your new psu is more than enough for your needs. At least you won't be stressing it so it will run nice and quiet.
As a side note, your 630w psu can only actually deliver 564w on the 12v rail. It's always best to actually double check the 12v rail capabilities of a psu rather than just gouing by the label on it. In your case you are fine but someone who actually needs 600w from that so-called 630w psu would be out of luck.

Thanks guys. I've decide to keep it. £55 is hard to beat.
