Id like to buy a new psu around 850w but im wondering will it be ok for the future broadwell and skylake or is it best to hold on.

you should be fine if you get a good one like superflower, corsair etc. it's the GPU's that may take all the power but looking at the new nvidia ones, they are reducing power consumption and not increasing it. the new CPU architecture is always designed to use less power too. i can only see normal everyday pc's consuming even less in the future and needing lower psu's.
my new htpc one uses a 25wt amd AM1 cpu and goes well.
What sort of system will it be powering? Unless you're running multiple high-end GPUs, for example, you shouldn't need anything close to 850W.

I was thinking of eventually getting two gtx 970
Even then, provided you don't plan on overclocking, 550W should be enough. However it's hard to be more accurate without more information; I'm basing that on 2x970 and an 1150 i7.
Both CPUs and GPUs are trending towards using less power over time so I can't see Broadwell/Skylake demanding any more current than Haswell.
It depends what are you rocking really. I'm in the market too for an 850w psu ended up going for a cooler master v850 cracking price on Amazon or scan atm.
I'm also in the market, although planning for around 1000w.
I will be overclocking twin cards and have a mass of case mods that use power too... plus whenever I look at PSUs, the next wattage bracket up is only a few quid, heh heh!!
I hear stunning things about Superflower, although I've never found out if you can actually turn those socket LEDs off or not... Would be even nicer if you could choose your colour!
850w is a bit over what you'd need for the system you laid out but you have to keep in mind that [if money isn't a huge issue and] you value silence in your gaming/work area then getting a higher-wattage PSU can only be beneficial. For one, their fans will not be spinning as fast because you won't be utilizing the power supply to its full extent and these high-end components are often more power efficient - letting you save the environment and kick ass at the same time!
On the contrary, using a larger-than-necessary PSU is likely to waste more power as efficiency drops off at low/idle loads, and the 80Plus ratings don't account for this.
