What is a good trusted PSU calculator to use?

I'm looking to build a budget system with an existing 7750HD and HDDs. Looking to get a g3258 for now, leaving an option to upgrade to an i5 maybe year down the line. I realise the need for a 600W PSU is overkill for this, but it will probably last many years and be sufficient for upgrades of cpu and gfx card.

Things will only get more efficient. A good gold rated 550w power supply would work wonders for years to come.

Just saw this and will add my 2c.

Its important to understand how the reviewers measure power draw. PSUs are rated to deliver their power and the draw from the wall is not 100% efficient. For example 400w from the wall at 85% EFF is only 340w being supplied by the PSU.

As said before 12v ampage is king!

I'm not entirely sure what to make of the new maxwell GPUs and their power spikes though. Should this be factored in to a nice overhead?

Not sure if this will help at all but uk.pcpartpicker.com has an estimated wattage in the top right corner.

Plug in your parts, one by one unfortunately, and it will tell you an estimate... Made me decide to get a corsair CX600M. Which is overkill but atleast my rig wont be underpowered!
