Hi,
Im looking for a quiet SFX psu for an i5 8600k ITX build with a gtx970

My Corsair SF450 is not too noisy.
also bequiet and silverstone do good SFX
be careful on SFX vs SFX-L
SFX-L is SFX Long, it's 130mm long/deep as opposed to 100mm of SFX

450-500 W is overkill for a 970 - a pair of 970s in SLI takes less than 400 W, and a system with a single 970 will only get through 250 W or so (both with an overclocked CPU).
Silverstone do a passive 520 W SFX-L PSU, which should be quiet enough
on the cheaper side st45sf v2 https://www.pcper.com/reviews/Cases-...nd-Conclusions
not modular or fanless but decent and low noise

From my testing in my mini-ITX system with a GTX1080 the fan profile is very conservative on the SF450. My system is housed in an aluminium case next to me and I can't hear the PSU and TH did some testing which indicates this:

I remember when I first got the gtx1080 I dissembled the system to test it outside the case and even when running games the fan would lots of the time not always spin up.
You also get a 7 year warranty too - it's a very good PSU and JonnyGuru gave it 9.9/10!
The Silverstone's mentioned earlier look good but are lower efficiency(probably get hotter) and have a 3 year warranty.
Edit!!
The new Silverstone SFX 500W PSU looks decentish:

However the use of an 85C primary cap and a few other niggles let's it down but it seems to be very quiet too upto 330w.

I have the 450W Silverstone ST45SF-G and the 500W Silverstone SX500-LG in two of my rigs and I can't hear them in operation.
Regarding SFX-L,Pob255 mentioned earlier - OP can your case take one of those PSUs easily?? They typically have bigger fans,so should help with noise. It also means you can consider passive units which Seasonic and Silverstone make(as mentioned earlier) but you do still need to have some airflow OFC.
This Seasonic PSU got a 10:

Edit!!
If you check out my GTX1080 review,I put in power measurements at the wall per game:
https://forums.hexus.net/reader-revi...enchmarks.html
The PSU was silent(at least to my ears) over those kind of wattages at the wall. Also the case is an aluminium one(does not block sound very well) on my desk about 30CM to 40CM away from me.
The SF600 actually is much noisier as it has a much more aggressive sound profile it seems.

I use a Silverstone sfx PSU in a server running pretty much 24x7 - it's quiet, very quiet.
