Choosing Power Supply - Corsair RMX 750w or EVGA G3 750w or Seasonic Gold Plus 750w

Now I know that this may be overkill in terms of wattage but regardless I thought in terms of upgrade-ability I would post what you guys think. I am also where there similar topics on other forums.

My planned build is as follows:

    i7 8700k or i7 9700k or i7 8086k or 2700x (will overclock at some point)
GTX 1080ti (will overclock at some point)
    16GB DDR4 3000 or 3200
    240mm AIO Cooler (most likely)
    One 1TB M2 NVME SSD
Two Sata SSD's (one is 500GB, the other 120GB)
    Two Optical Drives
    Soundblaster Z Soundcard

My case for the matter of cable length is the Cooler Master Stryker. Any advice would be great.

I think a decent 650W PSU would be fine for a single card setup like your proposed system, but off those PSUs I would get the Seasonic Gold Plus or the related Antec variant.

Any particular reason why you would choose those brands over the corsair and evga? The others seem to have more consistent positive reviews online than the Seasonic, but that could be down to some of the earlier Seasonic's being earlier manufactured models that apparently had some issues.

Re: Choosing Power Supply - Corsair RMX 750w or EVGA G3 750w or Seasonic Gold Plus 75

I have a Corsair 750W RMX model and I've not had any issues with cable length in a double wide case. I have also noticed a vast reduction in noise on the sound (it used to boot up with crackly noise and also appeared when games were starting up - I think the sound card filtered it out after a few seconds but that's now gone completely). Looking inside it, there's a lot of goop in there to dampen vibration into the components and those same components all look very decent with big name brand caps and so on. It's clearly the same board as used for higher models as there are unpopulated component spaces. The PSU itself is pretty quiet and actually has some kind of fanless operation at low load which matters not to me. Connectivity is excellent and the reviews of the higher end RMX850 model are very good.

I went from a 620W PSU to a 750W PSU for a similar set up (although using a Vega64) on the grounds that my calculations showed I'd be very near the limit of my 9 year old PSU. If you're planning on overclocking as well, I'd personally go with the 750W as you've suggested as there's less chance you'll be working it near the limit.

    Review RM850X from Anandtech

10 year warranty sealed it for me. As well as finding it at a substantial discount at £90 (Scan but a while back).

One of my mates got an EVGA G2,and the connectors were really weird, and I that put me off them, and it seems to cost more than the other PSUs. The Seasonic Focus is cheaper and more compact that the competing PSUs. There are also two Antecs based on the Seasonic which are cheaper, the Antec HCG750 and the Antec EA750G Pro.

However,I would still say a 650W PSU should be enough for a single dGPU system though, and I would be surprised if it wasn't enough.

    Edit!!

The Corsair also looks to be under £100,so also is a contender.
