Opinions on pico PSUs for itx build
As per title, the rig it would be running is as follows,
Core i5 3570 on gigabyte mini itx board
1x 256gb SSD drive
1x 80cm/120cm fan (haven't decided which yet)
8gb DDR3 Ram (2x 4gb sticks)
This is a mini server ive had for a while that just makes to much noise and as im cutting the case down to size i decided a pico psu might be the way forward, i'm just concerned as i've never used one so im not really sure what to expect with heat etc and how well it will handle this as the rig will be running for approx 4-6 hours every day for a ARK server etc
It ran on a 300 watt sfx psu fine but i want to obviously cut the bulk of the psu away to make the pc tiny :)
Re: Opinions on pico PSUs for itx build
It just moves the bulk from the case to a separate box. The external AC to DC converters for these things are huge, and you'll want to make sure you have spare capacity as from experience they're not as well rested as they might claim. The Pico PSUs themselves are great as is just some DC converters so don't have to worry about great really.

Flex ATX form factor might be worth consideration, no external power brick.
