If anything I have had old people allow me to go before them if I only had a few items(and they had a lot). Maybe the areas I have lived in have the nicer kind of old folks.
Why don't you just avoid the lines with older folk then??
You people seem to have issues with older folk.
There can be delays at the checkout at the till due to other things unrelated to age too.
What about when people take a bit more time to pack their shopping or cannot find the right card? What if something does not scan through properly and they have to get another item without a damaged barcode or sometimes when the card reader has issues??
What about when people have vouchers to redeem then?? What happens when you have a trainee checkout person who has a problem and you have to wait until their supervisor comes along??
What about people who have no clue to use a self checkout and get confused?? Many of these people are under 30 anyway. I have had to help some of these people if none of the staff have come forward.
It is really annoying when someone behind you in the line is huffing and puffing just because they in a hurry to get nowhere. If the person before me is taking a bit longer what the heck can I do about it!!?? Blooming childish behavior if you ask me.
If you are really that impatient when you shop you should get someone else to do it or order it online.
Better still if you know it is crowded at lunchtime pack your own food and take to work like many other busy people do.

I get angry about everything.
Supposedly I'm starting to be argumentative on the internets... I hate that, I'm supposed to be a fun-lovin' guy.
I hate the fact that my media player loves rick-rolling me when it's on randomise.
I hate happy couples that I see on the street, they seem to exist only to depress me with their happiness.
I hate that I have to put on a facade for so many things, because the real me is a complete bastard with no feelings.
Apparently, I also hate that the Wiimote doesn't have enough buttons.
People that smoke in the car when they have their children in there... People who smoke around kids anywhere tbh.
That one annoys me enough as it is.
It was funny because i was explaining why i disliked it to a mate who had given up smoking and was saying how hard he found it to drive and not smoke. No more than 30 seconds later, someone who was parrlellel parking dropped theirs and bumped the car in front as the ciggy hit their leg and they reacted badly to the firey pain!
throw new ArgumentException (String, String, Exception)
Amount of pregnant women you see smoking!!
I do know everything, just not all at once. It's a virtual memory problem.
I've fotgotten Jade Goody already.
If it weren't for this thread, I wouldn't have known that Jade Goody had passed away TBH.
Personally, I find that hypocrites really get on my nerves.
Nowhere as significant as talk of genocides in the first post, but I guess few things posted here since are quite as horrible as those examples.
Actually I'm angry about Jade Goody again. One of the nice things that idiots have been saying about her is that at least she raised the profile of the importance of smear tests, which have become 20% more popular in recent months. People are clamouring for women to be tested from 20 rather than 25 despite this representing a huge waste of NHS resources when other risk groups are arguably under-funded.
I learned today, so apologies if this is old news, that when she was 16 she had some pre-cancerous cells removed and was told that she had a lifetime high risk of cervical cancer. She actually did have smear tests, and her most recent one found indications of cancer at an early and treatable stage.
She then ignored multiple letters requesting she come in for treatment.
Anecdotally I'm led to believe that the NHS have numerous occasions where tests are denied to people not judged at high enough risk, test results aren't properly scrutinised, are mis-diagnosed, are mixed up and sent to the wrong people, where no action is taken at all after a positive test result and so on.
None of this happened in Jade's case - they found her cancer early and she ignored multiple letters telling her she needed treatment. Insofar as anyone can be held responsible for dying of cancer, she is. What an appalling example. Grrrrr.
