Obama won 365 to 173. Whilst undoubtedly his race helped mobilize a number of voters (voters who had previously been mobilized, but to a smaller extent, to vote for Bill Clinton), with a majority that enormous, even if he lost the "race factor", he'd still have won convincingly

To the opening title to the thread, all i can say is. If he wasn't black he probably wouldn't have won, if he were the same age anyway.

I am sure some people voted for him because he was black. But that's coz there are dumb people around. But then, come on, if you are smart, you just have to look at the contenders - McCain and Palin, are you serious?

Even if Obama was the green goblin dressed in a batman outfit, you know he was gonna win with that competition.
