so pleased to hear about that, Blunkett was the main pusher and I fear the damage may already be done, what will be worse if we get a home secretary who supports it and isnt a complete idiot like blunkett and can put the arguments more succinctly (sp?)

One comment made it all, really:

Good, Blunkett finds out just how annoying people find having their personal interests violated is. Oh the irony!

The most dangerous man to personal privacy felled when his private life was revealed. A fitting end to a man I would call a "Complete Arse"

Well, that's one down - I doubt this will bring down the ID card scheme though, but I certainly had several drinks to celebrates dave's downfall this evening...

Charles Clarke, ummm...an even bigger idiot than Blunkett who hasn't had an original thought since the day he was born and who will follow the party line blindly. He has vowed to follow the previous line on ID cards. That and every other policy Blunkett was proposing.

Howard is screwed. He originally wanted ID cards brought in. He'll just hand Labour a stick to beat him with if he does a U turn now. Let's face it, they've taken every policy that the tories have and touted them as their own. I only hope that enough voters turn away from Labour that their power is so diminished that they can't get their so called reforms through. I'm not naive enough to think they will lose the next election. Though I shall still vote in hope against them.
