well he may think he cant make do with what he earns, I suspect he cannot sustain his standard of living on what he earns if he does not do a 48 hour week and thats fair enough, however i think its a little far fetched to say he cant live on it.
I understand the pain of the tax man as well as next month I am going to take one hell of a hit, of course nobody likes it but what I will have left will be enough to live on and then some.
Schmunk I think we area coming from the same angle here I was just disagreeing with what he annual wage is, besides its pure speculation anyway as £15 may be his over time rate and this may be why he is not in favour of capping hours.
I dont think it will necessarily make us less competative (sp?, feeling lazy) compared to other economies as I dont belive that working more hours is neceissarily more productive and companies could be wasting cash by paying for all this overtime when they should really be managing workloads better or just employing one more staff member.
