Online Vigilantes Fight Back Against Phishing Fraudsters

As fraudsters continue to target their victims with increasingly
elaborate phishing sites, the surprise appearance of anti-phishing
vigilantes is now hampering their operations. A PayPal phishing site
recently reported by the Netcraft Toolbar community was promptly taken
down; not by the hoster or law enforcement agency, but seemingly by a
vigilante with an interest in disabling such sites and protecting

Is this a good thing, or should we be worried?

Vigilantism does have a habit of getting out of hand sometimes.

As long as it's confined to phishers & faudsers it's a good thing imo. But they're up against organised crime, which is never a good thing. All power to them.

I think it was Jiff who posted it originally. I used to run it overnight a lot but my 'free' upgrade to 2Mb also brought with it a 30GB/month cap so I don't any more.

Moby, what router software is that?

Suspect it's the standard BT thing (Moby's on the fibre trial, so a BT router is a pre-requisite).

If your router can output SNMP then Paessler will be your new best friend
