From the "I knew it was going to happen" department : lawsuit filed against GTA

    http://edition.cnn.com/2003/LAW/10/2....ap/index.html

Stepbrothers William Buckner, 16, and Joshua Buckner, 14,
Now GTA3 is 18+ anyway, so what are the parents doing by allowing their children to play such a game ?

Haven't the parents taught them the difference between right and wrong ?

    What a tragedy anyway

the main reason for this is : they got the rifles from a locked room in their home !

If they didn't have so many guns in america - in their OWN homes, then this most likely wouldn't have happened.

There would have been NO way I could have got a gun when I was 14 or 16!

I could have at 15! But I had the brains to not do something so ridiculous as trying to imitate GTA! And I have never needed to actually get hold of a gun.

these kids are clearly just a burden on society, I say fry em, and the parents whille the chairs still hot!

Really, would any1 with an ouze of sense do this? sound like a sane productive family unit to u?

oh, and they should also fry the lawyer in this, he can obviously smell the money he is gonna make if his suit is sucessful.

Lets face it, in this tragedy we have 3 elements....

    1. Kids with no sense at all, completly brain dead by the look of it.

    2. Loads of guns

    3. violent computer games

now i wonder witch of these elements is most dangerous...... witch one do you remove to make every1 safe, hummmmmmm I know, its the games!!!!!!

Surely, due to the game having an 18+ rating, and the guns being easily accessable, this wouldn't stand at all in court at all. As it's the parents fault for letting the kids play a game illegally, and it's the parents fault for letting the kids have such easy access to the weapons.

Violent games and films are treated very differently by shops and parents. A parent will probably think nothing of buying gta for their child but if the child asked for texas chainsaw massacre on dvd... oh no its much less likely they would get it!

well, I remember this fuss when I was a kid, any1 remember mortal kombat? I played all the games and I have to say that im not a violent person. I think violence in people is caused by more than watching fictional violence. Im sure real violence such as domestic violence or hooliganism makes more of a psycological impact.

thats just ridiculous! if the kids grasp on reality is that tenuous that they think life is one big computer game then fry em, and fry the parents too, firstly for brining up such retards in the first place and secondly just in case they're tempted to have any more kids - its for the good of the gene pool

perhaps someone should lend them a copy of superman & hope they jump off a building in a misguided attempt to fly
if it ain't broke...fix it till it is

Thompson, who said he sent letters to Sony and Wal-Mart to drop the game before the shootings, said, "It's not like this is coming out of the blue, they chose to ignore this danger."
Sure, let's blame the entertainment industry for all violent acts perpetrated by retarded teens.

A teen shoots a white businessman? Let's sue the Wachowski brothers for the Matrix, the shooting of agents being evident inspiration for the crime.
A group of white teens in headstockings knock over a black-owned grocery store? Let's sue David McKenna for American History X, evident inspiration for the crime.

The families of the two people shot want someone to blame? Blame the kids' parents. Blame them for not having raised their children to have sufficient respect for other people and their property, that the two kids could decide it would be fun to shoot holes in the property of others, much less the vehicles in which said others are travelling.

So, having identified the guilty party, let's sue them. But wait, just how much could we get from the parents? $100,000 before they're bankrupt? That's not enough. I know, let's sue someone that does have the kind of money we want. Let's sue <XYZ entertainment company that made a violent movie/game>.

    Greed and stupidity. Lovely, eh?
