I voted for affordable housing. I'm utterly against ID cards and would never ever vote for a party that was in favour of them.

I think the options provided (and those omitted) are almost as interesting as the results tbh.

Granted there are lots of issues (more than allowed in a poll) that I could of added, but no point adding wars as it not what I was called a domestic issue, and as for immigration, I sick of people confusing the issue so i didn't want it as an option

Don't get me wrong I dont think ID cards will work for what they say they are for... It has no way of preventing terrorism... have they not heard of people making their own! What is more worrying is how they intend to use all of the data we would be storing in one place. ID cards have the pro's and many con's. But like most things politicans do they don't give use all the info, and saying that our very bias media only tell use what they want us to know, or what their editor or producers think (ie their opinion, rather than letting the people hear the arguments and make their own conclusion).

I must admit affordable housing is a priority for me at the moment, as education isn't as I aint thankfully got kids (i'm 24) crime levels are not that high (could always be lower but so could council tax!).

But hey just wonder what other people thought so of get a consensus of opinion from Hexus

Had to say housing as I'll be leaving uni in a little over a year and will be looking at getting a house soon after then (well a year or so). The way things are going it looks like I'm gonna be renting for a fair few years

    Crime tbh.
I will vote for the most "Anti-chav" party.

(obviously there is more to it than that, but I cant be bothered with a long post atm)

I put affordable housing, no matter how much money they plug into it, the NHS, education, in places it can be a mess, people always complain no matter how much more funding is put in.

Housing is one of the things that mainly appeals to me, and people around me, house prices are ridiculous and theres no way I could afford a decent gaff. Ever. 200k for even a small house ? Even on 30k a year I'd be hard pushed to afford one....so how is anyone going to get on the property ladder unless they get a superior job? I'm dead set against renting, Ill never do it.

Well you see all of the parties will promise whats above but the question is how many will stick to what they said you know there will be more taxes, the house prices will rise again making it even harder for us looking to move. Look at it this way, Labour win they will go on doing what they haven't been doing for the last 8 years, nothing new will change, Conservative just don't have a clue, the promise the drop of council tax and such and they say that taxes won't go up to cover it, so where is it coming from and finally the Liberal Democrats, nuff said, they are promising everything under the sun and seem to think that the money is going to grow from the tree's.

Either way who ever gets in they are all as bad as each other and seem to plod along promising changes and nothing happens. So here's to another 8 years of nothing.

Regarding Swafman's post, if you are finiding it hard on a 30k wage I may aswell give up as I am on just under £16500 atm.

Im not on a 30k wage, Im a student, I wish I was.

I was just making the point, my sisters on over 20k now I think, and she just cant do it.....even with her boyfriend who earns 16k (Thats 36k total they bring in) There finding it hard to find a decent sized house (Bigger than a flat, but not much bigger) On their earnings....on a 200k house for 25 years itll work out about 500k their paying back.....thats about 20k a year and they both earn collectivly 36k (Before tax), and they need to live as well.

The mad thing is, it costs so much to buy a house but the mortgage repayments are lower than that of the rent on a flat/house, round here its £400-£600 a month for a house before bills etc etc now if I managed to find a small £140,000 house the mortgage repayments would be just under £300 a month, but the problem is the banks just won't give you the mortgage based off your wage :/

Yup....my sister claimed it was about 4 or 5 times your salery? So she can only borrow 100 or so K, when she needs 200k.....and when you combine saleries with your BF or husband its only 3 / 3.5 fold, so even conbined they still can only get 100k to borrow

its ridiculous, as I said, Ill never rent anywhere, you might as well get a morgage and pay there abouts the same these days

I voted for education as that will have a knock on effect with some of the other issues.

Same as taxes could have effects on others. If they binned stamp duty then more people would be able to afford houses. I think banks have a responsibility to stop people getting in over their heads and the recent spate of debt related suicide with the lenders taking a lot of flak has had an effect on what they are prepared to lend.

Legislating for affordable housing on new building projects would help too. For example on a developement of so many houses a certain number should be below a set price. They may not have the extras but people can add those once they have the property.

But for me, education. Well educated people are, I believe less likely to become involved in crime and are better able to get better jobs that can return the income to get on to the housing ladder. For example.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, housing is already affordable in this country, simply arrive in this country, claim asylum, and be given one for free. All you have to do is claim that you were being mistreated in your own country, gloss over the fact that you were in France, but still risked everything to get here, which proves that you obviously do not just want a safe place to live, as France is safe, and the jobs a good 'un.

All this working hard for many years stuff is so old Labour, don't you know?

That's utter b*******. Not only is it bloody hard to actually get asylum in this country, you don't get given a house, if you're lucky you get housed while your application is being processed.

We are the country who recently shipped some failed asylum seekers back to Zimbabwe. We don't even have diplomatic relations with Zimbabwe as far as I know, but we're shipping people back there? Predictably enough they've not been heard of since they returned. Frankly that kind of sh1t makes me ashamed to be British, and when someone comes in here and claims Britain is a soft touch it makes my blood boil. You may be joking Vaul, I don't know, but if you are it's not funny.
