360bhp,who are they fighting then? It is not Israeli policy to target civillians and to suggest that it is would be ridiculous, unless you believe that the leaflets dropped telling people to get out is laced with anthrax.

JPreston, the Israeli army is more knowledgable than you about how to attack Hizbollah, I'm assuming you aren't a military commander of some sort though, if you have a better suggestion I suggest that you send it to the head of the Israeli army.

Seeing as it's Iran that has armed Hizbollah then I would argue that there isn't a difference... except one. Ketyusha rockets are aimed at civillans, Israeli attacks are aimed at Hizbollah and destroying it's infastructure.

You do realise that power stations, roads and bridges, telecoms, hospital, and buildings filled with children are not exclusively terrorist infrastructure? Or maybe all the dead kids would have been the next generation of terrorists and hence legitimate targets?

Then why has Israel killed TEN TIMES as many civilians (and disproportionately, children) as Hizbollah?

Of course it's not exclusive infastructure but they can't just say "we won't do anything because some of Lebanon's infastrucure will be damaged". Lebanon's government is partly responsible for allowing this growth of Hizbollah in violation of 1559
Lebanese civillians are not targets, neither were the 10000 in Kosovo or the 100s that died in Afghanistan. If Israel could have a situation where there were 0 civillian casualties then that would be great, unfortunately I have never heard of a war that no civillians got hit. Israel has apologized for killing civillians accidentally, I never heard Hizbollah apologize for the civillian deaths in Israel, even though many have actually been Arabs. I didn't see them drop leaflets telling people that a rocket was going to fly in to their house.

In 1982 Israel hit a clearly marked convoy killing 40 of it's own men, are you going to tell me that was intentional? Armies make mistakes, just Israel seems to be critcised more than any other for making them.

It also might have something to do with Israel actually helping it's civillians to evacuate and get in to bomb shelters rather as opposed to Hizbollah setting up roadblocks.
