Alcohol kills hardly any brain cells, it has bad effects on your liver etc but cannabis not only destroy's brain cells it can alter the way you think, your moods (it has been proven to cause depression) and in extreme cases can trigger schitsophrenia. Your brain is the most important part of your body as it can't be replaced and you can't live without it, if you fry it with drugs it'll take a long time to recover.

legalise it defo cut out the criminal element they have moved on to ciggies and alcohol for profits anyway
another thing weed doesnt get you "HIGH" its a downer not a upper i wish people would get this right you dont smoke weed and go jumping about mental dancing etc... you relax chill out feel
smooth mixing with alcohol may give a different effect but its still a downer!!!!
cant remember having a hangover or missing a days work cos of excessive weed abuse the night before
go to casualty and count the amount of alcohol related incidents
compared to weed related there are
this argument is ongoing most people are against weed cos its illegal and dont even know any of the good things about it

Someone left a note on a piece of cake in the fridge that said, "Do not eat!". I ate the cake and left a note saying, "Yuck, who the hell eats paper ?

That's because it's fairly harmless in the short term, if you go into a mental hospital and see how many patients were regular users (I have done this as one of my friends suffers from schitsophrenia), that might give you a better idea of what long term damage it can do.

If you have been a long term regular user and you can honestly say that you haven't noticed any negative effects on your memory, moods, attention span etc you're either a special case or are kidding yourself

but people start on weed and move up to higher class drugs. if it was legalised there would be loads more people doing it, and then when they move on to the heavy stuff they resort to burgalry to fund it.
People who want it legalised are the ones who toke. not many (if any) people who dont smoke da erb will want it lagalising.

Nicotine is addictive and yes, it does cause cancer.

Cannabis contains carcinogens. It also acts as a catalyst, when smoked with tobacco, for the carcinogens that nicotine contains.

Smoking cannabis is very dangerous as has been discussed with regard to mental problems later in life, too.

I think you'll find that 74% of statistics are made up on the spot.

    .
i've been smoking weed for about 3 years now, and i feel no urge to move on to other, harder, drugs. the only other thing that i have taken is magic mushrooms. i've been offered loads of other drugs many times, and i just refuse, as i see no point. i know mnay other stoners like this. you cannot generalise in this way, as it is mostly untrue.

    I hate this arguement:

"People who break the law and take illegal drugs move on to harder drugs"

Coz it is actually bollocks. Plain and simple. If it were so true, then we should ban smoking and alcohol coz they are also both drugs. Get real.

I know sooooooo many people who do pot. I don't know anyone who does anything harder (probably there are people I know of, but dont know).

It should be legalised. Actually I think that all drugs should be legalised, and special clinics set up for people to go and do drugs safely and under supervision.

I don't know when that kind of step would be brought in, but I would like to think that when (its not a case of if imo) they legalise cannabis, these kinds of clinics will be available, and make it illegal to do drugs in public (including smoking methinks).

If people wanna do drugs, then why not? As long as its not gonna affect anyone who doesn't wanna do drugs or be associated with them, then wheres the problem?

Maybe I'm just a bit liberalist I dunno
