    Aluminium Advent Keyboard.

I went o PC World and bought an Advent aluminum keyboard for £20.

I don't have not learned to type, so from that point of view I don't know how this keyboard would fare.

But for £20.00 it doesn't feel cheap and nasty. It has a nice bit of weight to it and I really love how the metal feels cool under my fingers (Although the main keyboard keys are plastic). It feels pretty solid.
The NUM and CAPS lock buttons have a nice blue LED above them.

Going along the top of the keyboard are quite a few buttons.
A home button, Email, Internet browsing forward and back, search, refresh, volume controls, wake, sleep and power and a couple more.

I have Vista. All I did was plug it in via USB and all the special buttons and everything worked without me having to install the software CD. Even now, I still have not installed the software or drivers.

I just wanted to post this, as I am very impressed with it. And for £20.00, a bargin.

One last thing, If you are sat at the computer with the lights off,
Your monitor reflects enough light on the keyboard to see every key.
No need for tacky illuminated keyboards.

My housemate at uni has an advent keyboard, pretty similar to what you describe apart from his came with a mouse and is just white plastic. However it feels far from cheap, and is really nice to type on! Is yours laptop style flat keys?

Yeah, laptop style keys. I'm just really surprised at the build quality.
Feels nice, heavy and solid. Very slim aswell. I've spent £40 before on on keyboards. All were plastic and they all felt cheaper than this keyboard.

I believe it also comes in pink as well (or at least did at one point).

It's certainly one of the better Advent keyboards out there.

The real test is whether it'll withstand a years worth of use (most advent mice don't). Make sure you keep that receipt

All the keyboards I have had died by Red Bull. I think the shortest life one had was a week.
Let's hope this one dies of old age.

Nice review Couldn't agree more about the the monitor reflecting enough light.
Just spent an enormous amount on a Steelseries 7G and put my crappy Razer Lycosa up for sale on Amazon.

Will write a short review of it when I've had a chance to play..
