    Re: Metro 2033

£10.85 from shopto, would I be mad to pass that up?

Also Just Cause 2 for £9.90-summat from The Hut (when the site isn't down) again a must-buy for that price?

I would say so for both of them, yup. Just Cause 2 is Steam-enabled as well. As for what I think about JC2: http://gaming.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=24842

Steam for MP or just so it can be linked? I don't play MP at all so not a selling point for me I'm afraid!

I didn't know there was MP... I mean you can type the code into steam and get the updates and so on through it.

    Nice one!

It's a good game, RF:G. I haven't played it much because I need to sign out and log back in as a local user for it to work properly, but it is nonetheless pretty decent.

Not as good as RF or RF2 sadly, but that's not a *massive* surprise.

    Re: Metro 2033

Well I'm quite liking it so far, 3hrs in.

Graphics are excellent, love the lighting. Performance has been pretty solid as well.
Load times are mega fast, very impressed by that.
Gameplay as people have said is VERY on-rails but it kinda works well.
They sure managed to fit a ton of enemies on-screen at once didn't they!

Well worth the money so RF:G was just a big bonus

Good to hear that you're enjoying it

Still to buy this game yet, only had about 15 minutes on it but it was fun.

    Re: Metro 2033

Having enjoyed the 'Stalker' series, I opted for another slice of Russian FPS drama. Naturally they are very different beasts.

Initially, I enjoyed 'M-33' until the effects of the mask filters (or lack thereof) became evident ...
I am an asthmatic and could not continue with a game that sounded like a portion of my daily life (the wheezing & the panting, that is - not the monsters & the shooting!).

Nevertheless, objectively, it was an interesting concept.

    Re: Metro 2033

Just ordered - £6.85 delivered on shopto, not much to lose. Wasn't a huge fan of Slalker as the pacing was odd I'm not a big fan of that whole cold, bleak, grey imagery thing used in it and HL2.

Hopefully this one will keep me going till Syndicate and more importantly the new Thief.

    Re: Metro 2033

it is a good game but you need a pretty high end PC to play it. What are recommended settings, I heard a couple of settings are very inefficent and cause massive slow down.
