Nice build, Are you going to stay with the single stick of RAM or change to a dual channel kit?

Re: Apex's Hexus-AMD APU Bundle Review Thingy Whatsamacallit

I am planning to run 16gb in this rig but for this i will test with 1 stick that way we have numbers (if you look at the other two reviews they have used 2 sticks for the benchmarks)

I am trying to avoid going too indepth; i feel the work that Cat and Scaryjim have done more then covers that.

You mentioned your previous build having Q6600 in it so I'd be interested in mirrored RAID1 (or RAID10) performance and stability comparison between ICH and A55 FCH chipsets, if that's not too much to ask and your previous build used such setup? I'm not really after any particular benchmarks just your honest opinion would do. If this is not possible and you'll still be moving some of the HDDs from the old rig to the new one, just a few words on how the disk subsystem's performance feels like, if there's any noticeable "stuttering" when burdening disks with many requests and such. This, and how good you reckon the onboard sound system is, in particular if there's any audible AC crosstalk? Don't damage your eardrums testing this, though! Thanks!

Raid will be out of my league; never used it on the shuttle so never likely to use it in this :/

    Audio QC; good call

    Food for thought though

Do you have anymore comments on the Silverstone case? My case looks very similar - fractal arc mini. Was thinking of purchasing the same Silverstone case not too long ago.

Re: Apex's Hexus-AMD APU Bundle Review Thingy Whatsamacallit

The ideas behind it are good just it feels cheap. I know it's a case and it will be hidden most of the time but it bugs me.

The metal is thin so if you overtighten any of the screws there is a chance you will strip the threads out it.

Would i advise some one to buy it ?.... sadly no i think the fractal cases / antec ones would be better built imho.

I'll update this once the rig is fully built / settled in.

play some team fortress 2 on it, iv had a mess on my E-450 netbook and its pretty playable at 1366x768, so they should be pretty sweet with it.

That cooler looks big, Will it fit on the board OK with the ram slots being so close like Jim pointed out?

Yup; already done a quick mesure up and it will be snug - worst case is i have to use the other pair of slots (i am only runing with one ram stick currently and as above i have a 16gb [8x2] kit to go in once am done)
