    Gen 4 ipod

Launched with the slogan "The Best Just Got Better", the Generation 4 ipod looks more like the gen 1/2 than the gen 3. In my opinion the gen 3 was not as apealing as the older models, something i think was fixed in the gen 4.

I have not read any reviews of the gen 4 so you're only getting my opinion, a normal users.

The new click wheel is great in my opinion, and chosing light grey instead of white which would blend in is a good choice. The pressure needed to make the wheel click is a little on the light side, every now and again i accidentally press 1 of the buttons while i'm scrolling.

List of new features (dont know if they were included in gen 3)
    • Even if you turn the ipod off, its still got your song selected
    • Customisable main menu
    • music pauses when headphones disconnect
    • alarm clock which allows playlists as alarms
    • "blue"er backlight
    • better battery life
    • Smaller (0.06 inches different from gen 3)

My favourite thing on that list is the first. On my gen 2, if you held down the pause button you went back to the main menu when it was turned back on. The gen 4 goes straight back to your song (excatly where you left it)

Ipod compared to my Siemens C45

    Ben

PS: cudos to apple support, called them thursday night at 7pm, friday lunchtime a package arrived ready to send my ipod back (there was a small problem with the alarm)

12 hours on mine, thats with shuffle off and volume at half. The scratching i'll agree with tho

If you have a gen 1 of 2, i would recommend buying a new 1 tho.

There is a mobile phone with as good sound quality as the ipod, and up to 1GB storage space...Sharp 902.
