I see what you mean. I have heard of so many people wiht issues with this company and it shouldnt be silenced so other people can make a informed judgement on who to buy from.

maybe they threatened to sue like they are notorious for doing.

personally, i am really surprised that they are still trading, they are the worst retailer in the uk in my opinion.

Unfortunately the 3-5 day thing is due to the bank, not the company.

Only ever used Overclockers once and had no problem with them, however when I got access to their forums and read how they have treated customers when they have asked questions on the forums I will never shop there again. Ever.

However, this is going to turn into another OCUK bashing thread, I will just say this, some you win some you lose, just seems the odds are in favour of OCUK on this one, the customer seems to lose more often than not.
"I've heard there is a common problem with this item from forums" - If you read some forums they believe Elvis was abducted by aliens, doesn't mean it's true.

Ive used Overclockers twice and had no problems, all very well packed and at a cheaper price than scan.. (why i didnt buy from scan)
You must be one of the ones they decide to pick on
I would recommend Overclockers because of my good previous buying's but i would generally stick to scan + free postage thats a very nice deal.
Also Scans customer service is 2nd to none and they have deserved the 3 Custom Pc Retailer of the year awards they have won.

overclockers have always been good for me, (though i am annoyed at being banned from the forum simply due to my sig being slightly too large, no warning or anything, 1st offence aswell)

but once they sent me some faulty ram, rma'ing it wasnt easy n getting hold of the arrogent ******s wasnt easy either, and then i was spoken to rudely by some mate who sounded well full of himself n proper spoke down to me, (yeah mate u know more about pc's than me, big deal, get a gf, get laid lol)

they seem to be one of these companys that bitch n threaten legal action at any slight disrespect towards them

i always noticed about the forums that it only had nothing to do with the store when it suited them, like if someone posted a complaint it would be deleted within minutes, but if someone posted a thread sayin 'oh ocuk put ur bulls in my mouth, ur the best shop ever' that would be fine

    sorry to ramble on people,

I've never had any problems with them and I've gotten quite a few orders. After hearing some awful stories from friends about customer services and dodgy stuff being sent (one of my friends was sent a dodgy PSU which took out his system a few days after he got it) I won't be ordering from them again anytime soon.

overclockers are a little hit and miss for me a few bad experiences and quite a few good ones

scan are good but they don't stock dfi they dont stock geil or g skill or patriot
imo in terms of high end performance gaming stuff scan are a little sparse especially on gaming boards and memory so still have to use overclockers

and in overclockers defence ordered memory from them last week on sale at same time as an order from scan for cpu and board and overclockers sent my stuff out on time and it arrived at 9 am scan sent my stuff out late and it arrived a day after the overclockers stuff so every online company has annoyed customers just overclockers gets it bad here but then scan get trashed on ocuk forums

I ordered about 5 times from overclockers with great products at a good price and were quickly delivered. The problem came when I got a faulty ram stick from them. I sent it back and over the following 5 weeks I mailed and phoned them to no avail. They then said that they couldn't find the return and so couldn't test it.

Its a good job I sent it back using special delivery They then after seeing the signature sent me out 2 ramsticks so I gained 1. I think it was me who won then rather than overclockers as they were (because of them loosing the return) £40 out of pocket.

Never going to buy from them again. Extremely poor customer service if ever you need to use it.

Agreed, they are ok unless you have a problem, then you just get ignored! They still owe me a refund on a case that I returned to them in November. Initially said that they did not receive it, although they had sent me an e-mail confirming that they had! Then they said that they had sent a replacement, they didn't!! Letters, e-mails and webnotes just get ignored. I am never going to use them again.

    I bought a X850XT from them in March 2005.
I had in 43 days before the memory died on it so i called them and they said it would have to go back to Taiwan.
Obviously not happy about it but thats life. I dug deeper though as under the Distance Selling Act , goods have to be fit for purpose and last a reasonable amount of time or a full refund is legally required. The OCUK chimps thought 43 days was a good amount of time for a GPU to last before it gives in. (Remember that if you have a £400 8800GT card)

Anyway, i wrote to powercolor (card maker) and was told that that batch of cards had faulty memory and OCUK knew ---- 3 weeks before i bought mine!!! The Tech Support (well, the monkey on the phone at OCUK) even told me the same and that they were having them RMA'd to them in their droves.

Basically they sold me a card that THEY KNEW would die.

When i asked for a refund they said NO........i could have 45% of the value back and that was it.

I wrote to their MD..... Mark Proudfoot. No response!!
I didnt expect one as i heard he was an ignorant fool.

I posted on their forums asking for an explanation and was promptly banned.

    So...i was stuck.....

I sold the card on Ebay as faulty (got more than the 45% they offered me and vowed never to use that company of modern day pirates.

All you have to do is google 'overclockers complaints and its there for all to see.

Use them at your own risk...there is a reason why they are cheaper (and nastier) than everyone else!!! Think about it!

And Hexus...please please please dont let them on here ever. They will actually get business from it and no-one wants to see that.

if someone buys something from these people without looking, they are silly, if someone reads the bumf and still thinks it won't happen to me.....then they are silly. If someone buys an item and it works out - good on them.

I'm not a fan, but its getting a bit tedious ranting about them when everyone knows or should know what they are like
    It is Inevitable.....
