I'd always plug the Asus sabretooth for FX builds. Particularly if you want to overclock

What's your overall budget, do you need peripherals, an OS, or a monitor?

Re: first pc build please review!

I've already past my budget trying not to push it anymore so sabretooth unfortunatly would be, may swap the FX-6300 for FX-4350 as well and 8gb Kingston hyper-x genesis 2x4gb ram instead of single dimm/stick.

I've got 1TB WD CAVIAR BLACK, os and a monitor already.

I couldn't justify a Sabretooth board either. The M5A97 EVO R2.0 is a good compromise though, the LE version seems to have a traditional 4+2 phase VRM whereas the EvoR2 has a digital 6+2 (compared to the digital 8+2 on the Sabretooth). For me, that swung it for the Evo as the cost is about £20 more than the LE.

If you are down to the wire on costs, I would forget the aftermarket cooler for now if that gets you the FX6300. The heatsink that comes with the FX is a heatpipe job, if they put a decent fan on it rather than the 70mm one I think it would be a good cooler.

Edit to add: I have tried putting an 80/92mm fan on one of mine, it didn't go well. It is still an OK cooler just not as quiet as it could be.

I'd stick with the 6300 - it's (sort of) 50% better (6 cores vs 4) and only a tenner more expensive. If that.

If you aren't overclocking, the Gigabyte 970a ds3p is a good board for a fx-6300. If you do plan to overclock, the Gigabyte 970a UD3p is £65 on Amazon, and should give you a decent overclock (8+2 phase VRMs)

PSU looks to be a bit OTT on such a cheap build. A 400w bronze supply for ~£35-£40 might be better use of budget. Be quiet Pure Power L8, or Corsair Cx series for example.

    EDIT:
In fact, isn't the FX6300 actually cheaper than the 4350?

For £650,the OP could probably get quite a decent rig! Are they overclocking?

You could probably just about eke out a Xeon E3 1230 V3 and a R9 280X for that kind of money,if you are re-using your HDD.

OTH,would you prefer to spend nearer to £500 or around £650??

It would be fine on your default build - you'd only draw 200-250w. If you plan to overclock, or upgrade to a high end graphics card, then you might want a bit more.
