Question Mid Range ITX Build - Advice and input appreciated

Hi guys, I've been out the custom PC game for a while so super rusty on current components and bang for buck. Anyway, my friend was asking me for help on a new build for gaming as he has found his Xbone has been a massive disappointment and is looking to sell it.

His budget is £700 but can be pushed slightly above. Primarily looking at parts from Scan and maybe OCUK if the price difference is significant.

This is what I've got so far: http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/ac...8c65ebdaf05119

    CPU - Intel Core i5 4590 3.3GHz Retail - £142.98
    MB - MSI H97I AC, Intel H97, ITX - £87.56
    RAM - 8GB Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Low Profile 1600 - £58.56
    GPU - 2GB MSI GTX 770 Twin Frozr Gaming - £228.92
    SSD - 120GB Samsung 840 EVO - £61.01
    HDD - 2TB Toshiba DT01ACA200 - £56.38
    PSU - 500W Fractal Design Integra R2 - £39.00
    Case - Antec ISK600 MiniITX Gaming Black - £53.98

    Total = £730

    Quick fire questions:

    1. i5 4690 worth the extra £17?
    2. 8GB Corsair, is 8GB enough for gaming, any cheaper brands?
    3. Is the 770 best bang for buck? or maybe 280X? Any new releases on the horizon?
    4. Best SSD atm?
    5. Is there a better PSU, picked the Fractal one as it has dual rail? Maybe Corsair or Seasonic?

    Thanks

    Thanks for the suggestions CAT

Didn't notice the single stick of RAM, picked a dual channel one.
Looked at some reviews for the MX100 and it seems like a better SSD than the samsung so picked the 256GB size instead and delaying the HDD until it is needed.
Changed the PSU to http://www.scan.co.uk/products/600w-...mm-fan-atx-psu. Seems like a slighty higher Watt psu of the one you recommended but at the same price. Single rail is better?.
I did look at the 280X but my friend wanted the nVidia instead (marketing eh.?)

Heading directly to Scan after work today so can't shop around I'm afraid.
Should be up and running by Sunday XD

The EVGA 600B gets a pretty mediocre review here:

    http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/600B

Apparently it lacks support for Haswell CPU extended sleep states, & doesn't come with 4 PCIe power cables either.

The OEM EVGA uses for the 600B is HEC, which also fairly mediocre IMHO. The PSU Cat suggested is made by Seasonic, which would be my preferred choice.

    Have you got the parts?

I've just bought the i5 4690, and I'm more than happy with it.

I did consider the Xeon 1230-E3? for the extra £30 it would offer better performance, I think it runs about .100ghz slower, and hasn't got the IGP, but it is worth it from what I've seen. The only reason I didn't get one is because it was out of stock when I ordered.
