    Re: Time for something new

Just a few thoughts, first with the CPU, it is only around £24 more to get the FX8320, for the difference I think it is worth looking at getting the 8 core over the 6 core processor. Instead of the 7770 you could get an R7 260X or for £60 more than you could be looking at an R9 280, in all I would say upping your budget by around £85 could make your PC a much better investment, then finally if you swapped the Be Quiet PSU for an EVGA 600W 80+ Bronze Power Supply ErP/EuP Ready with 12cm Quiet Fan you could save about £12 there.

I'm assuming you already have a keyboard, mouse and monitor, along with Windows 7, if not you need to factor these in to your budget too.

What size monitor were you anticipating? BenQ have a 24" 1080p at £118.

Check if your case comes with fans before adding any - you may not need to.

    Re: Time for something new

That looks better, your total comes to around £670ish now. What I would say is that an R9 280 is still the better graphics card choice if you can squeeze a few more £££'s into your budget, sell your cat or maybe a kidney if you have to. lol

Same with the monitor, you might be better off either finding the extra few £££'s or looking at a similarly priced monitor with a larger screen, you can get a 23" Asus monitor for around £97 or maybe an Acer 24" at close to £95, both are on Scan.

Talking of scan, once you have reached 20 constructive posts on here you would be entitled to free shipping on all purchases over £25 from Scan plus other benefits - click the link to see them all. So make some constructive posts, get involved with the community and start making savings on your shopping, the mobo you were looking at is currently listed on Scan for £63.56 and Scan also have a good range of Keyboards and Mice that are around the same price as the A4Tech models you have selected but they are of a better quality than those particular models, IMHO.

Amazon also arrange free shipping on many of their product lines and if you subscribe to their free 1 month trial of Amazon Prime you would get free overnight delivery but then don't forget to cancel before the end of the trial or they will charge £79 for a years membership to Prime. Overclockers also have some great offers too.

    I would get this PSU:

You can also get an R9 270 for aroudn £115:

However I would try and get this R9 270X:

I think this card is the one you should get, better than the R7 260X for the same money

Don't know whether it's worth it but you could also get faster RAM for a few bob more

    Your Mobo supports both
But I don't know much about RAM

If you are trying to skimp a few quid, do you have a bedroom LCD TV with HDMI or VGA input you can borrow/use for a while?

    Time for something new

Btw, I know someone with the be quiet! 600+ PSU and although it is more expensive, it is completely SILENT! Just saying.

And also, 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM should be perfectly fine, make sure it is in 2X4GB sticks.
