You can save money on buying the following SSD:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Crucial-CT25...ds=mx100+256gb
You could also get a cheaper HDD too - 2TB 7200RPM drives are under £60 AFAIK.
Something like this would be a good starting point for the cooler:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...9F4aArNu8P8HAQ
You will need a compatible case OFC.
However,it also means you get into Core i5 4670K territory which is probably better for gaming when overclocked in most cases.

Note there are strong rumours of an FX 8370 125W cpu coming out in September. No hints on what clock speed it will do though.
What sort of usage do you use your system for? In your experience would this handle everything I wanna do with ease? Would I notice a considerable difference between the 8350 and the 9550?

OKAY....SOLUTION TO PROBLEM SOLVING 1
I will connect two monitors via DVI, and TV via HDMI. (only need 1 graphics card)
AMD Catalyst Suite will allow me to set presets for the two configurations I am after....and it also looks like there will be an option to include where the audio is sent in the presets......if not, i don't mind changing the audio through windows. :)

I like the look (and the price) of the H100......although the case........Sorry CAT-THE-FIFTH.......but the case needs to be something extraordinary! :P......its gonna be the focal point of the whole living room, and hence needs to breathe, eat and look like fire! :P Im not fully decided on a case yet....but it needs to be something quite whacky! :)

The problem is that to get a decent overclock out of an FX83** series CPU or even to run an FX9590 at stock you need a decent cooler since they do consume a decent amount of power when overclocked(and produce a fair amount of heat too). The H100 won't fit in many cases:
http://www.overclock.net/t/1144409/h...-full-listings
Plus the motherboard specified is probably the best AMD overclocking motherboard bar the Crossfire ones, but has huge VRM heatsinks which means potential issues with larger air coolers.
Regarding the Fractal case,it is actually soundproofed - lots of the gaming cases are not meaning they are very noisy.

Graphics Card: YES
Power Supply: Seems decent enough :)
CPU: Will probably go for FX8350, or FX8370 if it comes out soon enough
CASE: See above :P
SSD: YES
Motherboard: Dont really know enough about them to tell....maybe you could tell me why this one is good?
DVD/CD: Seems like a safe Bet....no Blu ray though?
Memory: Not that much cheaper that Corsiar, and do Corsiar not have a better rep?
HDD: Either this, or the 2TB one posted above.
Regarding the case.....soundproofing sounds nice, espically for a living room....I was just hoping for something a bit more spectacular? Are there different designs (incorporating LED strips and things) of the same case?

Well I can only say it handles everything *I* need with ease. I do game a bit, including some WoW but not done any raiding for ages. Have had my graphics card for years, so that is now my bottleneck there. The machine is really specced as a Linux programming dev workstation, dual boot into Windows for gaming.
First another question: You have said you were getting fed up with your current Intel based machine. What spec is that? It can be helpful to know what sort of upgrade you are looking at, and might even be able to pep up your existing machine at low cost.
Lastly, last time my Windows hard drive died I replaced it with a 240GB SSD. That is all the storage I have on Windows (though I have a home server I can dump things on). In line with an earlier comment you made about deferring buying things to get a better system, I wonder if you would be better off starting with a 480GB SSD and upgrading to a hard drive when that fills up.
My 240GB drive has taken a year to fill, thanks mainly to the Steam summer sale :D Patching games on an SSD is so much nicer, same with things like Steam doing a game verify.

Okay this is what I have come up with as the final build...
Ive shopped around a bit and can get it for around £750 without the HDD. Ill set it up and get it running just using the SSD, and then invest in a good HDD after a month or two....
Do you guys think this is a good build? Any further suggestions?

Yeah, this is what I have decided to do.....Ill just get the SSD to start with for all my programs/games and the OS....256GB should be pleanty for that :) Ill then buy a 2TB down the road for all my photos and stuff :)
As for the Alienware...its a Laptop, so not really much point in trying to upgrade it haha. I think im gonna try and sell the laptop to fund a new netbook that I can take out with me...(the Alienware weighs a ton!) The system I have is i7-2760QM @ 2.40GHz, 8GB 1600-DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M, 1TB HDD, (dont know about the motherboard or anything else...its a laptop)
Re: High end build - £700 target budget - suggestions please
Ah a laptop, any decent desktop will eat it for lunch then. I'm sure you will be delighted :)
So do you have keyboards, monitors etc?

I have an old style keboard with pins (not USB) and a USB mouse.....If that will work to start with then im happy.... I have my eye on a STRIKE-7 keyboard haha....but that will be after a few months :P
Monitor wize - I have one 720p Philips monitor at the moment EDIT: And the TV , again after a month or two ill be investing in 2 identical (probably 23in or bigger) displays.....Ill have to source them :P
Do you think my build is okay then?
Re: High end build - £700 target budget - suggestions please
I would try for an XFX 650W or something similar,as if you are trying to push an overclock on a FX83** and test it under something like Prime it can draw a lot of power(not so much under gaming though). XFX don't have the best graphics card warranty unless you get it from OcUK. Anything more than 1866MHZ DDR3 RAM is wasted on AM3+ as the FX CPUs don't support anything higher.
Edit!!
BTW,there is noise about new AMD card being launched calle Tonga:

Re: High end build - £700 target budget - suggestions please
i would say go with an i5 gets same performance but at lower cost
Re: High end build - £700 target budget - suggestions please
have a look at the xeon E3-1230-v3, its a 4770 without the igpu (it does not have an unlocked multiplier, so you wont be able to effectively overclock it), it comes in at a price point between the i5 and the i7, since you are going to be using photo editing software you will gain great benefits of having the extra threads.
http://ark.intel.com/compare/75047,75054,75122 here is an intel data sheet comparing the i5 4670, the xeon and a 4770.
it will go in nearly all haswell motherboards, just check before buying to make sure bios compatibility
Re: High end build - £700 target budget - suggestions please
i have put together a quick parts list, i have not included an SSD as this will go above budget and you would be better off getting a solid core system then upgrading in the feature with an SSD, i am also assuming you are going to take the HDD out of your old computer and put it in this.

All you need now is a case of your choice for ~£70
