Final decision stages for my mATX build.

So, within this month i'll be ordering all the necessary parts to build my new mATX PC. Just wanted to pop into this forum and post the parts i'm planning to use, basically just to get a second opinion, see if there's anything i'm overlooking need to re-think etc...

    CPU

    Intel i7 4790k

    Cooler

    Corsair H100i

    Motherboard

    Asus Maximus VII Gene

    RAM

    Corsair Vengeance Pro (2x8gb)

    Storage

    Samsung 840 EVO 250gb
    WD Caviar Blue 1tb

    GPU

    EVGA Nvidia GTX 780

    Case

    Corsair 350D

Main purpose for proposed rig will predominantly be for gaming and streaming, with some light video/photo editing work. Total cost of the rig will be around the £1200 mark, just looking for any advice on things i may have possibly overlooked.

One question i do have is how to go about choosing chassis fans, tempted to go with the corsair AF/SP editions (mainly due to the aesthetics), but i'm also intrigued by the new Noctua redux fans, has anyone had any experiences with the new redux line? Really interested to see whether these still hold up in regards to Nocuta performance/reliability and low noise aspects.

I think with that budget, I'd go for a 512Gb Crucial MX100 SSD...twice the capacity of the EVO for another £50

    I would second the 512GB MX100 - I would also consider the R9 290 as a graphics card too.

This is what i was looking for The MX100 looks like a great shout considering the small price increase for twice the storage, is the performance still on par with the EVO?

As for the R9 290, i'll have to do some research, i haven't looked into AMD GPUs much as of late, if at all, to be honest. The main reason being the stigma surrounding AMD cards that they produce a considerable amount of heat over its rivals, is this still the case? Having a nice quiet and cool running PC is something i have tried to cater for.

The MX100 may be slightly behind the EVO in some benchmarks, but I think most users would be hard pressed to notice the difference in everyday useage.

The R9 290 is a powerful graphics card & good value too, but's true that the high-end AMD cards produce a bit more heat than their NVidia equivalents. But given a decent cooling solution, it shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah, I think the MX100 will suit my needs perfectly. Will also consider the R9 290, just need to do a tad more research before i pull the trigger. Appreciate the feedback.

Fan wise it differs to where you need SP and where you need AF fans, I would just tell you which ones are best for your case but where is the fun in getting told everything? I recommend a quick youtube search for Jayztwocents, he should be able to tell you what you need to know about the two fans.

One more vote for the MX100, surprisingly fast, especially in 256GB+ versions, and the value is outstanding.

I got the 4790k in the Gene VII inside my 350d and I can say it looks really nice, was my first case with window. Also runs like a beast compared to my old cpu(2500k) even thought I have in underclocked atm as I am awaiting for a cooler.
