It wasn't the OP using paint.net, it was jimbouk in the first reply!

It's true that for the OP's planned usage a nettop would do just fine: there are Windows options at similar prices too, e.g.:

    https://www.ebuyer.com/810799-chillb...ystem-cbfuswap - Atom, 2GB RAM, 32GB SSD

    https://www.ebuyer.com/791206-msi-cu...9s6-b09612-243 - Broadwell Celeron, 4GB RAM, 32GB SSD

So the question is really down to whether the OP would rather have the experience of building for themselves...

The problem is they could upgrade their own pc with far better parts and use their Windows 10 license.

Yeah it comes down to does he want to spend less than 50gbp... More than that and he should give some consideration to the APU build or nettop.

Re: Internet PC: CPU, MOBO, RAM suggestions please

Hi again, thanks for your patience. not understanding everything, shall have to google some acronyms but I'll have something to buy in the event of total failure
I have a Corsair VX 450w PSU (think someone asked me but I find where),
some of the errors I've since noted are
    unexpected store exception
    kmode exception not handled
    system thread exception not handled
and something along the lines of trying to write to ROM

assumed imminent death, but have had it 7 years or more as you said
