Question What do you thin about this configuration? My new build.

    Hi all

It has been 10 years since I build my last Custom PC and it is time for a new one.
What do you thin about this configuration? I will not OC this PC, I will use it for some gaming, Hyper-V Labs and everyday use.

Re: What do you thin about this configuration? My new build.

Corsair Vengeance kits can be Micron,Hynix or Samsung chips, and ideally you would want Samsung B-die,followed by Micron chips. AFAIK,Hynix is the worst type for compatibility,ie,its going to be more BIOS dependent on whether these can work properly. Also single ranked RAM is preferable to dual ranked RAM.

This thread has some links to kits which have B-die:

Thx very much for your advise. My main factor was 2x16GB to save another 2 slots on MOBO for additional RAM, for next 2/3 years.

Re: What do you thin about this configuration? My new build.

If you aren't planning on OC then you may be able to change the motherboard from an x470 into a b450 without losing anything. You would need a b450 with good VRMs though, the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC seems the best option.

PSU is way over the top. PSU's work best when they're under middling load. I'd look for something closer to 400W unless you're planning on crazy over clocking or multiple insanely power hungry GPUs.

Re: What do you thin about this configuration? My new build.

550W is recommended for 1070Ti/1080/1080Ti and because I don't know what I will buy - something from "11" series, "10" series or 2x"10" series - I have decided to get 750W to avoid hassle if I will go with 2 x GPU.

If you go for a top end card or multiple then yeah, get the breathing space. If you've got the money, then I'd personally look at changing your primary drive to an M.2. NVMe drive, they're a little more expensive still, but a lot faster.

You can now get Crucial 500GB SSDs for < £80 - I think I might have brought my last spinning disk.

I would echo CAT in that Ryzen has a very good memory control system and will benefit from faster lower latency in the no future
so maybe B die I forget either single or dual rank is optimal even then you would need a perfect BIOS (CMOS | firmware GUI) to make it work as it could ~~ best

It looks really good but i have to ask do you really need 32gb of ram most programs don't even use 16gb ram. everything else looks great and the 20 series is worth a look since the new 2080 ti out preforms everything, in short its a beast
