Hope someone can help with this

I suddenly have no sound on my system. Tyring to paly muisc with I tunes results in nothing happening, no sound and no sign that the track is playing but sound not reaching the speakers. The track time remains set at 0.00.

Trying to launch any of the creative consoles or configeration utilities results in it saying there are no supported audio devices.

The system was working fine yesterday but not when turned on today.

Go to device manager and see if you can update your drivers from there.

Thanks that seemed to have sorted it out.

Not sure what caused the problem though

    Re: Sudden Loss of Sound

    Hi

Windows Updates can cause the issue as it can try and install the Msoft Version of the Creative Drivers which can cause issues, please make sure you have the latest driver off www.creative.com

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: Sudden Loss of Sound

    Ben

Updating the driver restored the sound but the panel on the front of the PC that controled it now doesn't function at all although I can still of course control the sound etc through software.

Any suggestions as to why that might happen?

    Thanks

    Robin

    Re: Sudden Loss of Sound

    Hi paleviper

There should be an option on the Cretaive Audio console you have to switch between them

    Ben

I have had a look at the Creative Audio Console and can see no option to switch between the different ways of controling.

    Re: Sudden Loss of Sound

    Hi

Sorry not to have got back to you sooner !

I have checked the Audio console options and cant seem to find a setting, once the latest drivers are installed the front panel should work when headphones are plugged in, its possible the cable has developed a fault but it may even be the port or the soundcard

Please confirm the build and invoice number be emailing these to systemsupport@scan.co.uk and I will look into this for you

    Regards

    Ben

    Re: Sudden Loss of Sound

    Hi,

Can you check what drivers are installed in Device Manager under Sound Video and Game controllers.

The Creative Audio Contol Panel should have a Mode tab were you should be able to choose between the modes like Game Mode etc.

    Regards
    Sanjay

    Re: Sudden Loss of Sound

Sorry Sanjay I thought I had replied to this

    The Drivers are

    Creative SBX-Fi

    Provider Creative
    Driver date 15/7/2009
    Version 6.0.1.1323

    ATI High Definition Audio Device

    Provider ATI Technologies Inc
    Driver Dtae 13/11/2009
    Version 7.11.0.7700

I can confirm that the creative audio panel does have a mode button but it doesn't effect the panel on the PC at all though it still stays dead if you change it.

    Thanks

    Robin

    Hi

Can you try and reinstall the software off the Creative disk we had a customer with a similar issue the other day and reinstalling off the CD sorted it
