    3XS 3D Modeler - Quadro 4000 Problem

I received my 3XS system in October last year. After a few issues with a DVI adapter the workstation has by enlarge been brilliant.

Yesterday the Quadro 4000 seems to have given up the ghost and either causes windows to freeze on the Window 7 welcome screen or go straight to a BSOD and reboot.

The system will boot in safe mode and safe mode with networking fine but when the Nvidia drivers come into play to use the cards 3D power it won't play ball.

I have tried updating the drivers including the last two, 267.69 and 270.61. Both WHQL. I have even tried the Autodesk certified driver (I use Maya) but no joy.

Each driver installation has been clean with all traces of the previous drivers removed.

I have done 4 system restores to points when the problem didn't exist and even done a fresh install of Windows 7 and eliminated all peripherals such as keyboard, mouse etc.

I have done Google searches to try and get to the bottom of this and it appears there is an issue with the Nvidia 400 based cards of which the 4000 is a derivative:

I have logged a service report via the scan website but can't get through on the phones.

I look forward to Scan's usual excellent response.

    Re: 3XS 3D Modeler - Quadro 4000 Problem

    RMA Replacement came as promised.

The new card worked straight away with no problems.

Will be stress testing it over the next few days to catch up on the 3D work I'm behind with.

Big thanks to Ben and Scan for sorting this out quickly.
